Nova Scotian baritone, Nicholas Higgs, is a recent graduate of the University of Toronto Faculty of Music (MMus 2021, BMus 2019). During his time at the University of Toronto, Nicholas performed the roles of Count Almaviva in Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro and Grigory in William Walton’s The Bear.
In the summer of 2019, Nicholas was part of the Canadian Art Song Project workshop and performance of Ana Sokolovic’s Dawn always begins in the bones, under the musical direction of Steven Philcox and Laura Loewen. Nicholas is currently the baritone section leader at Metropolitan United Church, Toronto.
In early 2021, Nicholas started his own digital editing company, “Vocity,” where he works with businesses, brands, and organizations to help their digital media ideas come to life. He is passionate about music and digital media and hopes to help musicians adjust to our ever-increasing digital world. Nicholas is thrilled to join the Tafelmusik Chamber Choir this season.
