In honour of music’s patron saint, the Tafelmusik Orchestra, Chamber Choir and guest soloists perform magnificent choral music by Handel and Zelenka. Handel’s festive Ode to St. Cecilia enthralls with its lyrical arias and stirring choruses. Bohemian composer Jan Dismas Zelenka’s very first Mass setting is a masterful work dedicated to St. Cecilia, brimming with virtuoso music. The cast of soloists includes the stunning British soprano Sophie Daneman in her Tafelmusik debut, with alto Vicki St. Pierre, tenor Rufus Müller, and bass Peter Harvey. A sparkling celebration!
