A native of Brooklyn, New York, Richard Myron earned his B.Mus at the Juilliard School as a student of Homer Mensch. His many interests have led him to work with such diverse artists as Leonard Bernstein, William Christie, Gustav Leonhardt, Giora Feidman, Jaap Schröder, Dizzy Gillespie and Jordi Savall. His studies of early music with Albert Fuller led to his activities as an internationally recognized leader in historic performance practice playing the contrabass and violone.
Currently residing in Paris, Mr. Myron is professor of contrabass and chamber music in the early music department of the CRR de Paris and the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Music de Paris, where he also teaches sight-reading to the modern bassists.
