Having recently completed his Master’s degree in Historical Performance at the University of Toronto under the tutelage of Daniel Taylor, Peter Koniers is excited to continue his studies as a Doctoral candidate. Past credits include various roles in Purcell’s Fairy Queen, Oberon (cover) in Britten’s Midsummer Night’s Dream, Friar and Balthazar in the workshop of the new opera Much Ado! and other small roles and chorus work. He also directed Antoine Dauvergne’s 1753 intermedio Les Troqueurs with Opera McGill. Past concerts include Bach St John Passion (Festival Bach Montréal) and Brahms Ein deutsches Requiem (with Kent Nagano). Peter formed Diapente, a Renaissance vocal quintet, in 2022.
