Join a dynamic team supporting one of Canada’s most high-profile and innovative musical ensembles.

Tafelmusik is seeking a talented Marketing Manager to join our marketing department. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of marketing experience, preferably in the arts or an adjacent field.

This position reports to the Associate Director of Marketing.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES (including but not limited to):

Marketing

  • Managing content calendar
    • manage weekly content calendar for emails, social media, and website
    • develop and plan content in collaboration with the marketing team
    • review and set up annual and concert marketing campaigns in Asana
  • Email marketing
    • create, schedule, and write copy
    • create and source images
    • plan segmentation and strategy according to audience
    • support the Marketing Coordinator in pulling lists of email recipients, managing approvals for marketing and development emails, and weekly email metrics reporting
  • Social media
    • develop and schedule content, including coordinating and liaising with independent content creator
    • coordinate and schedule posts
    • write copy and work with marketing team to create images and video content, including behind the scenes and concert day captures
    • manage approvals and budget
    • ensure proper tagging of artists, partners, and supporters
    • ensure proper crediting of photographers
    • monitor trends, activity, and comments, escalating to leadership as needed
    • report on metrics and use data and learnings to inform content development
  • Print materials
    • manager the production of print materials including but not limited to house programs, advertisements, posters, postcards, brochures
    • manage mailings for ticket and subscription campaigns, including coordination with print house, mail house, list building, and budget management
    • manage the archiving of print materials
    • manage and design Tafelmusik digital signage for home venue
    • ensure all content generated is in compliance with Tafelmusik brand guidelines

Concerts and events

  • attend concerts and events as marketing and audience relations support, as needed

QUALIFICATIONS

Essential

  • two (2) or more years of marketing experience, preferably in the arts or arts adjacent field
  • education in marketing and/or communications, including digital and email marketing planning and execution
  • experience with Adobe Photoshop or similar design platforms (e.g. Canva)
  • strong writing skills, ideally experience with email marketing
  • knowledge of Tessitura or similar CRM platforms (e.g. Salesforce)
  • knowledge of WordPress or similar website platforms (e.g. Wix) and basic website maintenance
  • skilled with Microsoft Office 365 with expertise in Excel
  • skilled in email management software such as WordFly or similar (e.g. MailChimp)
  • a personable team player with superb people skills and experience in coordinating diverse groups
  • an understanding of and sensitivity to the cultural, socio-economic, disability, and gender diversity of audience members, donors, community partners, staff, artists, and volunteers attending or working with Tafelmusik

Desirable

  • Class G driver’s license
  • First Aid training
  • knowledge of classical music and/or the performing arts scene in the GTA

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

This is a full-time hybrid position with in-person presence in Toronto required. Please note that some evening and weekend work may be required, related to concerts and events.

The compensation range for Manager positions at Tafelmusik is between $50,000 and $65,000 commensurate with experience. Benefits include vacation, sick, and personal days; health benefits; and Registered Retirement Savings Program (RRSP) that activates after three years with the organization.
