El Mocambo

November 7, 2023 8:00 pm

Mods & Rockers celebrates two iconic moments when English music took the world by storm.

Relive the British music explosion, and experience the hits that flooded the airwaves and concert venues of North America from the 1960s onwards.

Brought to us by Andrew Downing and Alex Samaras of the hit Tafelmusik concert Cafe Counterculture, groove the night away to The Beatles, David Bowie, Dusty Springfield, Queen, and Petula Clark, all newly arranged by Andrew Downing with vocals by Alex Samaras and music by members of Tafelmusik.

Intermingled with these fab tunes is music from an earlier wave of British music from the 1600s: John Dowland, Thomas Simpson, William Brade, William Young, and Henry Purcell. Get ready for an out-of-sight night.

Grab a drink and clap when you like what you hear—Haus Musik is where classical music lets its hair down.

Bring your friends and join Tafelmusik musicians and special guests at the legendary El Mocambo for an evening of convivial brouhaha.
