Jane Fingler is a Toronto-based singer from Winnipeg who keeps very busy performing as a chorister and soloist with various Toronto ensembles, including Tafelmusik, Theatre of Early Music, and Trinity Bach Project, and the Winnipeg groups Dead of Winter and Canzona Baroque Choir, to name a few. She is also a founding member of the newly formed Toronto-based Renaissance vocal quintet Diapente, who gave their first performance in December 2022. Recent solo highlights include Bach’s St. John Passion at the Winnipeg Baroque Festival (2022), Monteverdi’s Vespers with Dead of Winter (2023), and Handel’s Brockes Passion with The Metropolitan Festival Choir and Baroque Orchestra (2023). Although she has a particular love for performing early music, she is no stranger to performing contemporary music and has performed various new works at the Winnipeg New Music Festival and with Toronto groups Soundstreams Choir 21 and Opus 8. Jane is also currently pursuing a DMA in Historical Performance at the University of Toronto. She is thrilled to be singing with Tafelmusik for another season!
