An introduction to Dynamic Duos by Music Director Elisa Citterio
Two instruments played by two musicians, whose dialogue with each other offer a lively exchange of themes, virtuosity, sweet melodies, and dancing rhythms. The duo represents chamber music that is reduced to its essence, but is no less rich. Indeed, listening to just two instruments that sing or accompany in turn allows one to highlight the characteristics and possibilities of each individual instrument. The combinations of timbres evoke, by their very nature, different passions of the soul. The form of the duo reminds us that music is a profound dialogue not only between those who play, but also those who listen, since there is ultimately no dialogue without an audience.
