Tafelmusik has much to celebrate as we move into our third decade: an orchestra that is acclaimed both at home and abroad, a strong Toronto season with a solid base of subscribers and donors who come back year after year, and a discography of more than seventy highly-regarded CDs.
Tafelmusik has achieved so much because of the artistic excellence at the centre of the organization. But now, more than ever, we need a solid underpinning of financial stability if we are to continue to grow and develop artistically. Tafelmusik requires a long term, permanent base of financial support.
In response to this need, the Board of Directors, Tafelmusik staff and Tafelmusik musicians have agreed to pursue an Endowment Fund for Tafelmusik. Simply, an endowment provides a pool of money from which Tafelmusik earns interest that is used to support our musical activities each year.
The Endowment Fund currently stands at almost $1.2 million. Our long-term goal is to have $10 million in our endowment fund by the year 2010. This permanent fund will ensure a strong future for Tafelmusik.
All gifts to our endowment are acknowledged in our house programme.
We also have wonderful opportunities to endow the chairs, or positions, of the Orchestra, the Chamber Choir, Touring, Recording, Music Education, and many other Tafelmusik programmes. By endowing an aspect of our core business, you are making a significant commitment to the future of this orchestra. With your help, Tafelmusik will have the financial strength to reach our most ambitious dreams
